Cancer is one of the biggest killers in the industrialized world. Although it's often unavoidable, there are certain precautions you can take to dramatically reduce your risk of developing this deadly disease. The usual advice involves quitting tobacco, exercising every day to maintain a healthy weight and maintaining a healthy diet. These methods have proven quite effective, but there could be another way of preventing cancer: drinking tea.
Can Tea Prevent Cancer?
Tea is chock-full of antioxidants, a substance that fights off harmful free radicals. Usually accumulated through a mix of bad habits and environmental hazards, free radicals can be very hard on the body, ultimately contributing to the development of cancer and other devastating illnesses. The antioxidants in organic tea from Teatulia® could help prevent free radicals from reaching that point.
There's a growing body of research supporting the daily consumption of tea as a preventative measure against cancer. The following are a few of the more significant findings from these studies.
Breast Cancer
Multiple studies have linked green tea consumption to the possible prevention of and even recovery from breast cancer. One such study1 examined nearly 500 women in varying stages of breast cancer. Study participants who drank green tea on a daily basis benefited from a slower spread of the disease.
Lung Cancer
A study published in the Journal of Nutrition2 found that participants drinking at least one cup of green tea every day had far lower levels of 8-OHdG, a common marker often used as a predictive measure of cancer risk. The participants in this study were all heavy smokers who, before drinking green tea, had worryingly high levels of 8-OHdG. One of the best ways to avoid lung cancer is to stop smoking; but those who have quit after years of smoking may also benefit from the addition of tea to their diet.
The possibility of preventing cancer is just one of many health benefits that can accompany drinking a good cup of tea. Studies suggest that tea may strengthen the immune system, reduce the risk of heart disease and improve mental health. If you want to enjoy a healthier and happier lifestyle, try adding one or more of Teatulia's organic teas to your everyday routine.
